University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM)

UTHM or University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia is located in the southern region of Peninsular Malaysia in the district of Batu Pahat. It has links with 11 highly regarded institutions in different countries such as United States, Britain and Australia. The school’s mission is to produce highly capable and competitive professionals through their holistic program academe that is based on the Tauhid concept.

University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia – History of UTHM

UTHM first started in September 16, 1933 and was known as PLSP or Polytechnic Staff Training Centre. The center was financed by the World Bank which had a project to train lecturers for Malaysia’s Ministry of Education for their polytechnics. In 1966, the center was upgraded to Institut Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn (ITTHO) because it was able to successfully provide technically able individuals. When in was upgraded to become a university in 2000, it changed its name to University Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn (KUiTTHO) and it was only in 2007 that it became known as University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia.

University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia – Courses offered

The university offers diploma programs, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Among the undergraduate courses offered are Civil and Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication, Electronic Communication, System Automation and Robotics and Technology Management.

The school has 70 laboratories that are fully equipped with the latest and most advanced equipments and computer software. The library has audio-visual and digital resources aside from its monograph and magazine titles which totals to over 75,000. Residential colleges are offered but off-site accommodations are also available in which transportation is provided.
