Universiti Tun Abdul Razak or UNIRAZAK is a private university in Malaysia that is located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. It has a second campus located in Kuala Lumpur. The school is named after former Prime Minster Tun Abdul Razak.
UNIRAZAK is one of the first schools in Malaysia that received an MSC-certification. The three programs offered by the school that have MSC status are Bachelor of Information Technology, Master of Information Technology, and Master of Information Technology Management.
Tun Abdul Razak University – History
The school was established in December 18, 1997. The idea to set up the school came from Datuk Hassan Harun, KUB Malaysia Berhad’s former chairman. He presented the idea to YAB. Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and when he approved of it presented it to the then Minister of Education YB. Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak.
The school was officially launched on December 21, 1998. Then on March 1, 2007, the school was wholly owned by the Tun Abdul Razak Education Foundation or Yayasan PINTAR.
Tun Abdul Razak University – Courses offered
UNIZARAK offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in its two campuses, the RAZAK campus in Kuala Lumpur and the PINTAR campus in Selangor. The RAZAK campus holds three schools and one center. These are the Bank Rakyat School of Business & Entrepreneurship which offers degrees in Business Management in Entrepreneurship, Business Administration in Islamic Financial Planning, and Business Administration in Islamic Banking and Finance; the Razak School of Government that offers degrees in Arts in Managerial Leadership, Arts in Government & Public Policy, Economics, Public Management, and Public Administration; Graduate School of Business; and the Centre for Executive Education.
The PINTAR campus holds the Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Education and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management. It also holds the College for Open Learning, Graduate School, and the Centre for Languages and General Studies.
