Technical University of Malaysia Malacca- History of UTeM
Formerly known as Kolej Universiti Teknikal Kebangsaan Malaysia (KUTKM), the university was established in December 1, 2000. When it became operational in 2001, it was still renting out spaces from Metacorp Properties to use as their lecture rooms, administrative offices, library, hostels, and for staff accommodation. In the following years, the UTeM rented more houses from Metacorp as more students enrolled and more spaces were needed. The expansion leaded them to rent also from another company, Cubic Electronics. It was only in 2003 when UTeM’s Main campus was completed and the use of the houses from Metacorp and Cubic Electronics were stopped.
