Seminari Theoloji Malaysia (STM) or Malaysia Theological Seminary is a protestant seminary in Malaysia that is accredited by the Association for Theological Education in South East Asia (ATESEA). It is part of the South East Asia Graduate School of Theology (SEAGST). It was established in 1979, and is currently located at Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.
Malaysia Theological Seminary – History
STM was established in January 6, 1979. It started with the partnership of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Malaysia and Singapore (ELCMS), the Methodists and the Anglican Diocese of West Malaysia. The institutions aim was to provide a venue for preparation for those who were of Christian in faith. This not only included training for service in the ministry but also offered academic training.
The cooperation between the Evangelical Lutherans and the Anglicans brought about the venture between the Lutherans’ founding school the Christian Training Centre and the Anglicans’ founding school the St. Mark’s Training Centre. Kolej Theologi Malaysia (KTM) or Malaysia Theological College was the product of this merger.
Malaysia Theological Seminary – Academic programs
Diploma, certificate, undergraduate and undergraduate programs are offered in STM. The certificate and diploma programs available are Certificate of Christian Ministry (CertCM) and Diploma of Christian Ministry (DipCM). Undergraduate programs offered are Bachelor of Divinity (BD) and * Bachelor of Theology (BTh). While Graduate Diploma of Christian Studies (GradDipCS), Master of Christian Studies (MCS), Master of Divinity (MDiv), Master of Ministry (MMin), and Master of Theology (MTheol) are the postgraduate programs offered.
