Limkokwing University of Creative Technology – History
The establishment of the school began with Dr. Tan Sri Dato’ Lim Kok Wing, the founder, who was at that time a graphic designer working for different firms. He set up a design training company in 1986, the Limkokwing Institute. In 1992, he established the Limkokwing Institute of Creative Technology with the aim of providing easy access to education.
The school first held its classes in Kuala Lumpur but after more students and an addition of more degrees into the curriculum, they moved to Kelana Jaya. Every year brought in more students, so aside from moving to a bigger campus, the school also opened several branches in different parts of the country.
Now the university has different campuses in Malaysia and even has offshore campuses. In Malaysia, Limkokwing University of Creative Technology has campuses in Cyberjaya, Borneo and Kulau Lumpur. The offshore campuses are in the United Kingdom, Cambodia, Indonesia, China, Botswana, and Lesotho.
