Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM)

The Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) or Islamic Science University of Malaysia is Malaysia’s 12th public school. It is located in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan and boasts of having courses that encompass all divisions of knowledge. These are accounting, communication, counseling, dentistry, economy, language, law, management, medicine, and science & information technology.

Islamic Science University of Malaysia – History of USIM

USIM was established on March 13, 1998. It was formerly known as Kolej Universiti Islam Malaysia (KUIM) and in 2007 when it was upgrade to university status, it changed it name to what it is known today.

The school commenced its first semester on June 2000 in Institut Professional Baitulmal (IPB), Kuala Lumpur where it was temporarily located at that time. Two years after, it moved to Persiaran MPAJ, Pandan Indah at Kuala Lumpur still as a temporary location. It was in 2005 that the school moved to its current location at Nilai. The medical faculty still remained at Kuala Lumpur though.

Islamic Science University of Malaysia – Courses offered

USIM has a total of 8 faculties. This includes Faculty of Quranic and Sunnah Studies and Faculty of Syariah and Law. The 18 undergraduate programs include Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Quranic Studies with Multimedia, Fiqh and Fatwa, Syariah and Law, Sunnah Studies and Information Management, Science, Counseling and Communication. The university also offers postgraduate programs which are divided into coursework and research and writing.
