Malaysia University of Science and Technology or MUST is a private university in Malaysia that aims to provide a venue for science and technology educational training and be one of the country’s premier universities doing infrastructure research and development.

The school provides postgraduate programs that specialize in research. Initially, the masters level degrees were the only programs offered and the undergraduate studies were supported by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology or MIT USA. But since 2008, the school already offered foundation and undergraduate programs.

Malaysia University of Science and Technology – History

MUST accepted its first intake of students in 2002. This was 42 students that enrolled in the three postgraduate degree programs available at that time. The establishment of the school is largely attributed to the Prime Minister’s goal of setting up a university in Malaysia that is based on the standards of MIT. It was the MUST Ehsan Foundation that received an invitation in 1999 to be the one to realize this goal. It was in 2000 that the school was officially registered as a private university and with the support from the government was able to start its operations in 2001.

Malaysia University of Science and Technology – Degrees offered

Initially, MUST offered only three postgraduate programs. These are MSc in Information Technology, MSc in Biotechnology, and MSc in Transportation and Logistics. The new programs were Advanced Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Geotechnical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Systems Design and Operation, and Energy and Environmental Engineering.

The undergraduate programs available are Agrobiotechnology,	Construction Management, Energy and Environment, Environmental Sciences, Health and Pharma Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Information Technology, Material Science and Engineering, Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, Nutraceutical and Food Biotechnology, Supply Chain Management, Telecommunication, and Transportation and Logistics.
