Al-Madinah International University or MEDIU is an Islamic University in Malaysia that is web-based. The school offers programs in the fields of Arabic Language, Islamic Sciences, Business Studies, Education, and Information Technology.
Al-Madinah International University – History
The school started with a group of Muslim scholars’ goal of providing an alternative method of learning to Muslims so that they will be fully prepared for the modern world. The group wanted to utilize modern means that would give the students the flexibility to learn at their own time.
MEDIU got its name from Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, the capital city of the first Islamic state that was established by Prophet Muhammad. The city is also regarded as the qiblah for those people who are regularly in search for Islamic knowledge.
Al-Madinah International University was officially registered under Malaysia’s Private Higher Education Act of 1996 on June 20, 2007.
Al-Madinah International University – Courses offered
There are various degree programs that re offered in MEDIU. These programs operate under eight faculties. There are Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Faculty of Languages, Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, Faculty of Finance & Administrative Science, Faculty of Education, Institute of Postgraduate Studies, Institute of Preparatory Studies, and Centre of Languages.
Al-Madinah International University – Learning Method
MEDIU employs a mix of learning methods for the students. They can choose which one would best work out for them. The teaching methods are lecture, tutorial, and E-Lecture. There are also support activities: the E-Consultation, E-Forum, and Assignment.
