The Asian Institute of Medicine, Science and Technology (AIMST) University is one of the private universities of Malaysia. It is located in the state of Kedah Darul Aman in the northern part of Malaysia.
AIMST University – Overview
AIMST is a tertiary educational organization that is registered with the Government of Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education under the Private Higher Educational Institutions Act of 1996. The school began operating in October 2001.
Its aim is to provide premier technical education in the fields of computer technology, engineering, applied sciences, medicine and health sciences, and also business and management.
AIMST University – Curriculum
The programs offered in AIMST incorporates not only computer training but also includes writing and research. This is so that the students will be able to apply technology in all areas of their education and so that they will be fully equipped for work in the future.
Among the courses offered are Bachelor of Computer Science with majors in Software, Engineering, Multimedia and Networking; Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronic Engineering; Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic & Communications Engineering; Bachelor of Dental Surgery; Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery; and Bachelor of Science Biotechnology
English is used as the medium language for instruction in all the programs. But AIMST still gives high importance to Malaysian’s national language. It incorporates different initiatives in the school’s events and activities for the appreciation of the language and even provides language support for all students so that fluency of the language will be developed.
AIMST University – Facilities
The AIMST campus is built on 230-acre (0.93 km2). It is located in the foothills of a national park in Gunung Jerai in Semeling. It offers well-equipped laboratories and lecture halls. A student complex that has a bank, book store, computer shop, gymnasium and post office; a sports stadium and student residences are also available.
